Case Study - Balmoral Community Centre
Westcliff on Sea
In April 2007, the Balmoral Community Centre, based in Westcliff-on-Sea, received a grant of £2,500 from the Southend Fund for the replacement of its potentially dangerous windows.
A further grant of £4186 has been awarded in 2009 to enable the centre's management committee to employ a cleaner. This will further enhance the professional image being developed by the centre and take them closer to their goal of complete self-sufficiency. In the following video, Stephanie Stamp, a member of the committee talks about how the centre is used and the benefits that it provides to its local community. She also talks, with conviction, about the support that the Southend Fund has provided. You can read more here.
